ABQ Sound Lab provides a fully equipped house drum kit that is professionally tuned and optimized for recording, delivering a great sound right from the start.

Drummers are welcome to use our house kit during their recording session. However, if you prefer your own snare sound, double bass pedal, cymbals, or other personal drum accessories, we encourage you to bring them.

Our goal is to provide a great drum sound while giving every drummer the flexibility to achieve their own unique tone and playing style

From audio editing and cleanup to the final mix and master, we work to deliver polished recordings that capture your band’s unique sound. Prefer to use your own engineer? We’re happy to provide your recorded tracks at no additional charge.

Session Time & Song Expectations

Our recording packages are designed to maximize your studio time while maintaining the highest possible recording quality.

2-Hour Session: Up to 2–3 songs

4-Hour Session: Up to 5 songs

The number of songs completed depends on your band’s preparation, song length, performance complexity, and the number of takes needed. We recommend arriving well-rehearsed and ready to record.

Setup, soundcheck, and retakes are included within your scheduled session time. Additional studio time is available at $60 per hour, subject to availability.

Our goal is to help you make the most of every session without compromising the quality of your recordings.

The amount of time you need depends on the number of songs, instruments, and overall complexity of your project. For live bands, we recommend a 2-hour session for up to 3 songs or a 4-hour session for up to 5 songs. Individual artists recording vocals or instruments may only need 1–2 hours. We recommend allowing extra time for setup, sound checks, and additional takes to ensure the best possible recording experience.

If your session requires additional time, we’re happy to extend it whenever scheduling permits. Additional studio time is available at $60 per hour, subject to availability. We recommend booking enough time in advance to avoid interruptions and ensure you have plenty of time to complete your recordings.

Absolutely! You’re welcome to have your recordings mixed and mastered by an engineer of your choice. However, our live recording session rates remain the same, as pricing is based on studio time, equipment, setup, and the recording process.

Currently, mixing and mastering are included at no additional cost with our live recording sessions. We’re also happy to provide your individual recorded tracks so you can work with your preferred mixing or mastering engineer.

Yes! ABQ Sound Lab offers professional remote mixing and mastering services for artists and bands anywhere. Simply send us your recorded tracks, and we’ll handle the mixing and mastering to deliver a polished, professional sound. Whether you’re working on a single song or a full album, we can help bring your music to life without requiring you to visit our studio.

We understand that plans can change! If you need to cancel or reschedule your recording session, please notify us at least 48 hours in advance. Cancellations or rescheduling requests made with less than 48 hours’ notice may be subject to a cancellation fee. All rescheduled sessions are subject to studio availability. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
